The little things in life

Nothing makes me happier than good food, good drinks, good company and a warm fire on a cold night.

That said, I had a wonderful time with Edouard’s family this Saturday in Fontainebleau.  His mother made us a delicious spicy dish from the French Antilles (where she had been on vacation for the past 10 days), Edouard made us “planters” and “petit punch” as an aperitif, his father lit a fire in the fireplace, and his brother entertained us with pictures from his trip to Rome.

His uncle, a real jokester, animated the night with his lively personality and humorous anecdotes.

It snowed a bit last night but E and I were still able to go jogging in the a.m.
